Gayle E. Martin is a native Ann Arboright. She is a graduate from the University of Michigan where she earned her BFA degree. She has been an Instructor of Dance for 39 years, and in Voice for 5 at Washtenaw Community College. She has been blessed and honored to be performing onstage, whether it be dance, singing, or acting since the age of 3. She also teaches at Children's Creative Center where she has directed and choreographed a children's musical every summer for the last 19 years. Recently she choreographed Willy Wonka for the Chelsea Players, and First Date. For Ann Arbor Civic Theatre. She has been fortunate to graced the stage of Encore as the Mute in Fantasticks, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, The Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Jeannette in Full Monty and a tap-dancing chimney sweep in Mary Poppins. She had the pleasure to perform in the original musical, Into the Wild as Jan, which is based on the book and movie.
She was a member of the choirs in Sweeney Todd, and tap-dancing choirs’ member in Anything Goes. And danced and sang her way to Yonkers in Hello Dolly, play three roles. She stepped into Crazy for you playing two roles Just finished her 3rd year of performing with the phenomenal women of Wine Women and Song. The show was virtual this year, sign of the times. “The show must go on”. She performed at the Dio, in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She is excited to be a part of such a dynamic group of individuals. So thrilled, honored, and grateful for the opportunity.
